In late November 2013, a twitter feed going by the name @UKXCNews sprang in to existence. Maybe it has already hit your radar? The intention of the feed is to supply racers and fans with unbiased and up to date news, race reports, results, rider blogs and to also provide links to useful information from within the world of UK XC and endurance mountain bike racing. The feed covers all aspects of the sport from the top elites on the world cup scene, to the weekend warriors aiming for bragging rights over cycle club buddies. Even the nervous start-line newbie, taking their first steps into the racing world, will hopefully find the feed useful.

Scott is a physio, a massage therapist and bike fitter for Bike Science He's also a bike racer (anything from 6 hours to multi day races) racing for Niner bikes / Stans / Ergon / Rotor, speaks fluent French and some German, is a bicycle journo and an avid mountain sports fan. His background in sport and especially cycling, led him to becoming a physiotherapist, with a special interest in bike fitting and associated biomechanical issues. Since qualifying, Scott has immersed himself in treating musculoskeletal issues, helping people to return to functional health, whatever their activity and level. Posture is a key element that Scott works on, as this can have a dramatic effect on function and pain. His goals are to work with people for long term health, so that they understand their issues and how best to manage them. He has had much success with fitting cyclists of all abilities who may be experiencing discomfort on the bike or who simply want to make sure that they are in the most efficient position for their bodies. He explains that fitting is a process and the fit of the bike may change as a rider's body changes over time, in terms of flexibility and strength for example. As a competitive rider himself, he has had a number of successes in 8 to 12 hour races as a solo rider and in pairs. Scott knows first hand what it is like to be injured, having had to rehab himself back to pain free pedaling. Knowledge has been key to that rehab and Scott is keen to impart that knowledge to his patients, so that they get the best out treatment sessions for long term benefits. He is experienced in working with groups of cyclists as a massage therapist, to keep the legs going or to improve recovery. Scott has worked at events such as Ironman Wales, Transprovence, as well as local events and most recently for a group of 16 cyclists from Melbourne on their 10 day trip in the French Alps. He regularly works with the Rocktape (rocktape.net) team, as a therapist and trainer, using their K tape for rehab and performance.
